Memorial Lakes: 3rd (upper) lake plus optional Bogart Tower Off-Trail

Participants: Pam, Carolyn, Jenny

Memorial Lakes is one of my favourite Kananaskis trail hikes, with its variety of terrain, three beautiful lakes and the sight and sound of running water for much of the journey. This time, at the suggestion of a wise Rambler scrambler, we added on the optional ascent of Bogart Tower which was new to me. The scramble up the tower via a southwest ridgeline, although short, was more difficult than expected (I would rate it SC6) so added some extra excitement to the trip and it was nice to enjoy lunch from a different vantage point vs. the upper lake.

Thanks to Carolyn for the stats: 20.7 km, 930 m, 8 hr 40 m - and for her amazing photos!
