It was raining when we met at the junction of 22 and 532 so we proceeded south and had a rather nice three hour walk in the Bob Creek Wildland with not a drop of rain.
David was familiar with this area, but Annie and Carl had never been in this area on the north side of the Oldman River. Nothing too exciting but still a nice area for a walk in classic foothills terrain.
We did ascend from the trail that stays fairly low down to a small ridge from which we could see the south part of the Whaleback from the west (we normally just see it from the east) and also Porcupine Ridge further east. To the west we had Thrift Mtn (part of the Livingston Range).
I have a rain hat which now on at least 20 occasions when we've been fairly certain that we would get rained on has "warded off" the rain. It worked very well on this trip.
It rained minutes after we got back in our cars to drive down to Waterton. But the hat didn't work the following day. Roughly 8 km with 280m ascent, 3 hours.
Many thanks to David and Annie for joining me, Carl (C/S).
